The Long Dash (Polites mystic) is a very uncommon grass skipper with a beautiful gold/yellow color and bold spotted band on the ventral side of the wings. The band curves concentrically with the hindwing edge and around a central spot or group of spots in the same light yellow color. This is the only photo I’ve managed of this species while searching - they seem to love Blue Flag Iris blooms as many photos I’ve seen from the state depict them nectar-feeding on this flower.
